In 1969 the POW City Kinsmen became the largest charter club in the history of Kinsmen. The club chartered with 88 members under our Charter President, Ed Chynoweth. The POW City Kinsmen have and continue to fund and support many groups and initiatives around Saskatoon including Telemiracle, Camp Tamarack, Farm in the Dell, Hoops for Hope, Kinsmen Park among many others. In order to support organizations such as these, the POW City Kinsmen have and continue to run different events and fundraisers throughout the year such as our annual Top of the Hops Festival, Winemakers' Dinner, Celebrity Karaoke, Rum Maker's Dinner, Barrett Jackson Lottery, Christmas Tree Lot, Top Shot Hockey, Culture Days, etc. The POW City Kinsmen continues to try new and innovative ideas for fundraising and we always appreciate the support we continually receive in our endeavors. Thank you for your support.
As with all Kinsmen clubs, the POW City Kinsmen operate under the guidelines set out by Kin Canada. National projects that POW City Kinsmen have supported include the Kin Canada Bursary program (as the Hal Rogers Endowment Fund) and our provincial arm of Cystic Fibrosis. The national cause supported by Kin Canada is Cystic Fibrosis and since 1967 the support from Kin across Canada has resulted in over 36 million dollars being raised.
